TES Fest 2017 is thrilled to announce that our Conflict Solutions Team (CST) will be available 24/7 during the event to help facilitate peaceful resolutions of any conflicts, boundary violations, or consent issues that may occur. The CST utilizes nonviolent dispute resolution processes to provide supportive, fair assessments of conflicts, and negotiate conflict resolutions whenever possible.
The team will be headed by Lia Leto, a college professor, writer, and long time legal advocate for survivors of sexual and domestic violence. She is trained in conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation, and has been an active participant in the BDSM community for over thirty years. She will be working alongside a team of experienced volunteers trained in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
If you experience any interpersonal problems or disturbing encounters during the event, please don’t hesitate to contact the CST. Simply approach a TES Fest staff member, Security Dungeon Monitor, or a member of the Operation Hammond/Medical Staff and ask them to contact a member of the CST for you. You can also reach them by email at CST@tesfest.org. All concerns will be discussed in a designated, private space on site with the goals that all parties’ concerns are fairly addressed and, whenever possible, for the parties to return to safely enjoy the rest of the event.
